iniks Launches New Lotion "Sensitive Bright Barrier Milk," Adding Whitening Function to Barrier Care, Set for February 2027 Release
Maruho's sensitive skin brand iniks has announced a new product, "Sensitive Bright Barrier Milk," launching on February 18, 2027. The update adds whitening and wrinkle improvement functions to the brand's existing barrier care lotion. The formula is fragrance free, color additive free, and alcohol free, and it has undergone various irritation tests.

Maruho's sensitive skin brand "iniks®" will launch a new product, "Sensitive Bright Barrier Milk." The release date is February 18, 2027, and the product will be sold through the official website. It is a lotion approved as a quasi drug. The brand's existing formula centered on barrier function care now adds whitening and wrinkle improvement functions, and that is the new element this time.
iniks has built its identity around "barrier dermatology," focusing on regulating the skin's stratum corneum barrier. The brand's flagship product, "Sensitive Moist Barrier Milk," launched in 2016, and in 2026 it was renewed as "Sensitive Moist Barrier Milk N" with a revised formula. This new Bright Barrier Milk keeps that moisturizing and barrier care foundation in place, and the practical difference from the earlier product is the addition of whitening active ingredients and wrinkle improvement active ingredients.
According to Maruho's announcement, the active ingredients in the formula support the stratum corneum's barrier function and help prevent skin irritation. They also work to suppress melanin production and prevent spots and freckles. On the formulation side, the product remains fragrance free, color additive free, and alcohol free. It has undergone patch testing, allergy testing, irritation testing, and non-comedogenic testing. The company notes that these tests do not guarantee that no one will experience skin trouble.
Maruho cites a survey of dermatologists as background for the new product's development. The survey indicated that people with sensitive skin who continue gentle moisturizing and early care tend to notice improved skin clarity more readily. Based on this finding, the company decided to incorporate a whitening function into its low irritation barrier care formula.
Over the past several years, iniks has expanded its lineup beyond lotions and serums into UV care. On November 12, 2025, the brand launched a sunscreen for sensitive skin, "Barrier UV Protection Face & Body," and in 2022 it had already introduced a sunscreen serum, "Advance Barrier Day Essence." This new Bright Barrier Milk joins the lineup of moisturizing, barrier, UV, and whitening functions as a new product positioned to handle whitening and anti-aging care.
